ADOPTION COUNSELORS: ONE FULL-TIME and ONE PART-TIME POSTING CLOSES WHEN POSITION FILLED The shelter is hiring for a full-time Adoption Counselor AND a part-time Adoption Counselor. Must have excellent communication skills and work well with a wide variety of members of the community. The ideal candidate for this position must be able to multi-task and stay focused in high stress situations. Both positions may require some weekend work. Part-time position is 3-4 days a week. Minimum requirements: computer literate, comfortable handling different types of domestic animals, and posses strong organizational skills. Job tasks include counseling adopters, learning, retaining and relaying large amounts of information, answering phones, facilitating human-animal and animal-animal introductions, photographing animals, posting photos on website, writing copy and animal profiles, working with various local publications to promote our animals, following up with adopters, and occasional kennel cleaning. SFAS&HS is looking for an experience veterinary technician to work at the shelter clinic. Requirements include high school diploma and/or minimum of one year experience at a veterinary hospital (education may substitute for experience). Must have basic knowledge of surgical preparation, veterinary medicine, as well as practice safe and humane animal handling techniques in accordance with organization standards. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment a must. Good communication, computer, and organizational skills required.
