Adoption stories sought for Holiday Wishes campaign

Your adoption story could help the Santa Fe Animal Shelter win a grant of up to $100,000.
The PetCo Foundation, in partnership with Halo, Purely for Pets, recently announced hw_partnerkit_holiday_wishes_social_graphicits Holiday Wishes grant campaign, which encourages people to submit their adoption stories for a chance to win grants for animal-welfare organizations and a prize for the winning nomination.
The shelter has a chance to receive a grant award of $100,000, or a series of finalist awards ranging from $5,000 to $50,000. Anyone who has adopted a pet from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter can nominate the organization. Halo also will award the person who submits the winning nomination for the grand prize with a year’s supply of Halo dog or cat food.
If you’ve adopted a pet through the shelter, please share your pet’s story (limit 500 words), along with photos of your pet at www.petco.com/holidaywishes. This year’s theme is, “How love changes everything,” so please make sure to include how your pet has changed your life and how the shelter helped you find each other.
The deadline to submit stories and nominate the shelter is Oct. 31. The winning organizations and their featured pets will be announced in February.
Please make sure to include the contact information for the shelter on the nomination form: The Santa Fe Animal Shelter, Rob Morlino, grant writer, rmorlino@sfhumanesociety.org, 983-4309, ext. 115.
