Please note: Animals for adoption or lost animals may only be visited during Kennel hours of operation.

Adoption Desk:
9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Adoption Kennel hours (for viewing):
11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily

Admissions Desk:
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends

Receiving Kennel hours (for viewing):
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily

Directions

The Meadows Road interchange across N.M. 599 (Veterans Memorial Highway) is now open! Drivers may now use the interchange to cross the highway and gain access to the shelter. Roundabouts are located on each side of the overpass on County Road 62, also known as Caja del Oro Grant Road.

Here are the detailed directions:

We are located at 100 Caja del Rio Road, near the municipal softball fields and the Marty Sanchez Golf Course. We are about 11 miles from Santa Fe’s Plaza.

From Albuquerque and Interstate 25:

Take exit No. 276A/NM-599 S/Madrid.

Turn left onto Veterans’ Memorial Highway (NM-599 S).

Take the turnoff at the CR 62 interchange, follow the roundabout over the highway and at the second roundabout follow the exit to Caja del Rio Road (which brings you to the Frontage Road, where you will go left, or south.)

Turn right onto Caja del Rio Road.

The Shelter is about a mile down on the right.

From Santa Fe:

Head north on St. Francis Drive.

Take the ramp onto Veterans’ Memorial Hwy (NM-599) and onto the highway.

Take the turnoff at the CR 62 interchange, follow the roundabout and exit at Caja del Rio Road (which brings you to the Frontage Road.)

Turn right onto Caja del Rio Road.

The Shelter is about a mile down on the right.

Our resale stores, Look what the Cat Dragged In 1 and 2, are located on the south and north sides of town.

South side: Look What the Cat Dragged In, 2570 Camino Entrada, right next to Outback Steakhouse off Cerrillos Road, is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 474-6300.

North side: Look What the Cat Dragged In 2, 541 W. Cordova Road, right next to Wells Fargo bank across from the Santa Fe Baking Co., is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 780-8975.
