Adopt a Pet, Adopt some Art
April 29 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
A Santa Fe art gallery is hosting a pet adoption event and live art demonstration in support of homeless animals.
The event, in celebration of National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day, takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 29, at Canyon Road Contemporary Art, 403 Canyon Road. Billed as Canyon Road’s first-ever shelter adoption event and live demonstration benefit, the event will feature clay animals by Kari Rives, bronze sculptures by Fran Nicholson and allegorical oil paintings by Amanda Banker and others.
If a commission is ordered, the customer will receive 20 percent off the retail price, which will be donated to the Santa Fe animal shelter. In addition, 10 percent of other gallery sales for the weekend will be donated to the shelter.
The Santa Fe animal shelter will have pets available for adoption at the event.
Many works will be created specifically for the event, organizers said. It will be catered by the Loyal Hound for humans and Tulliver’s Pet Food Emporium for the adoptees and their guests. Ellen Hutchins, owner of Tulliver’s, will be at event and will provide nutritional information on pets.
