This spring, we’re doing everything we can to give Ada a new beginning.
Ada was found alone and badly wounded in an arroyo, injured, frightened, and exposed to the cold. A local high school student carried her to safety, and she arrived at Santa Fe Animal Shelter barely able to stand. Despite everything, her gentle spirit was clear. It was as if she knew she was finally safe.
Our veterinary team discovered multiple severe, infected wounds and a guarded prognosis. Ada is now battling sepsis, and her recovery will require intensive medical care, time, and patience. There is no quick fix, only steady, compassionate support and the commitment to give her every possible chance.

This spring, we aim to raise $180,000 to ensure animals like Ada receive lifesaving care. Thanks to a generous $25,000 matching gift, every donation made through March 31 will be doubled.
On average, we invest more than $2,400 in each animal who comes through our doors, Ada will require far more.
