    The Medical Director oversees the entire medical program for sheltered animals. Acts as liaison between the shelter clinic, other SFAS departments, and the public. Is responsible for the medical health and well-being of sheltered animals. The incumbent creates and implements protocols for shelter medicine and the flow of animals through SFAS. The Medical Director is the license holder for the shelter clinic. The incumbent also performs as a Shelter Clinic Veterinarian.   • Clinic Veterinarian

    The Shelter Clinic Veterinarian provides high-quality medical care to shelter animals, including spay/neuter procedures, treatment of a wide range of medical conditions, and herd health maintenance. Implements shelter medical protocols as established by the Medical Director, and delivers and ensures humane medical treatment of all animals seen in the Shelter Clinic.   • Lead Resale Store Sales Associate

    The Lead Resale Store Sales Associate is the Supervisor on duty at our resale store, The Cat Santa Fe, and primarily oversees the opening and closing of the store, ensures proper cash/change to open the store, completes the deposit after the store closes, ensures the alarm is set correctly and working, handles customer complaints/concerns throughout the day, trains new staff and ensures employees get designated breaks throughout the day.   • Pet Resource Liaison

    The Animal Resource Center (ARC) is a community-centered resource for pet owners where Pet Resource Liaisons work with pet owners focusing on keeping pets in homes through thoughtful individualized case management that allows for identification of barriers to successful pet ownership, assessment of needs, support and access to resources to reach the best possible outcome for the people and animals.

    Through our Animal Resource Center (ARC), Pet Resource Liaisons partner directly with the public and counsel on resources to keep pets and community animals in their homes, help animals return home quickly, support owners through end of life services, and assist with the intake of animals with no other options. Pet Resource Liaisons are also responsible for handling animals for intake, completing paperwork and data entry, answering phones, helping customers/visitors with requests for service, and providing all kinds of support to achieve the best outcome for the pets and people we serve.   • Behavior Team Member

    Behavior Team Members are responsible for supporting and maintaining the physical and psychological well-being of the animals in the custody and care of the Santa Fe Animal Shelter. With the goal of providing exceptional humane care for our animals, a Behavior Team Member is responsible for performing the following duties, including but not limited to: running playgroups, walking dogs of all sizes and strengths, performing behavior assessments on cats and dogs, implementing behavior modification training plans, assist the public with questions they may have about behavior problems with their dogs or cats, take animals to offsite events and represent the shelter in a professional manner at other shelter events. In addition, this role involves acting as a liaison between the behavior department and other shelter departments and its volunteers.   • Veterinary Assistant/Technician – Santa Fe Animal Shelter Clinic

    Santa Fe Animal Shelter Clinic – Assist the veterinarians in the medical and surgical treatment of animals. Intake animals entering the shelter system following proper protocols of fear free animal handling and computer data entry. Assist the veterinarians in the aspects of intake, laboratory diagnostics, radiographs, animal restraint, vaccinations, deworming, parasite treatments, and monitoring patient weights. Keep clinic and kennels clean, administer proper medications, and feed and exercise animals as directed.   • Animal Adoption Counselor
