Trap, Neuter, Return for Community Cats
Santa Fe City & County residents can bring trapped cats to be spayed or neutered before 10 a.m. to the Spay/Neuter & Wellness clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays only. Each community cat should be placed in a secure trap, covered with a sheet or towel, with only one cat per trap. They will be spayed or neutered, ear tipped, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated with flea prevention FOR FREE (limited to 2 community cats per person per day). The community cats must be picked up by 3:30 p.m. the same day unless otherwise instructed. The microchips will be tied to an existing assigned colony manager or Santa Fe Animal Shelter.
Traps are available through Animal Services at 505.955.2708 or through the Shelter’s Animal Resource Center at 505.983.4309 ext. 1606. Trapping responsiveness depends on staff and volunteer availability. Thank you for helping care for Santa Fe’s cats! Below are some resources we find exceptionally helpful.
