The Clare Eddy Thaw Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary clinic located at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter main campus at 100 Caja del Rio Road. We offer a wide range of veterinary services including routine wellness care and surgical care. Our veterinarians and support staff are highly skilled and trained professionals with multiple years of experience in the field. The hospital is equipped with all the latest monitoring and diagnostic equipment to provide the highest level of care to your pet. We have in house Idexx laboratory equipment, digital x-rays, dental digital x-rays, blood pressure monitoring equipment and Cardell monitoring equipment.

The Thaw Animal Hospital provides a valuable service to the pets of our community, and 100% of our proceeds support the homeless animals. We treat your pets with the same love and care that we would treat our own while providing you with exceptional customer service. Our mission is to support animals, save lives and spread compassion.

The hospital is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday – Friday, by appointment only. Please call 505.983.2755, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to make an appointment.

Thaw scheduled office visits start at $75, and estimates will be provided at the time of the exam.

Payment is due at the time of service. We require a valid photo ID if customers are paying with debit or credit cards. We accept cash, all major credit and debit cards. Checks are not accepted. The hospital also accepts CareCredit, a separate credit company which provides monthly payment plans. Thaw Animal Hospital offers a sliding scale for income-qualified clients. Proof of need is required.

A deposit is required to secure your appointment. Please note that cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will result in forfeiture of the deposit.

You’re welcome to use your pet insurance to help cover the cost of services. Please note that payment is required at the time of your visit, and invoices can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
